What we do
Young Talkers operate a mobile paediatric speech pathology (speech therapy) service servicing the City of Casey region of Melbourne, treating clients ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years old.
An advantage of mobile speech therapy is that we come to your home and work with your child in an environment that is comfortable, fun and familiar to them.
Young Talkers is experienced in speech sound disorders, early and school aged language, literacy, and working with the neurodivergent population.
Young Talkers can see clients who are NDIS self-managed or plan-managed, clients who are under a Medicare Team Care Arrangement, clients with private health insurance (level of rebates vary depending on your level of cover), as well as clients who aren't eligible for funding via other means, no referral is necessary. The fee structure is the same for all clients regardless of funding source.

"Hi, I'm a certified practising speech pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. I've been working in speech pathology with children and teens of all ages in private practice since 2016. I work with children with autism, ADHD, language problems, pronunciation problems, lisps and literacy. I love this job because everybody is different, and everybody needs a different approach, which means that this job is endlessly interesting."
"As well as Speech Pathology, I have a background in Linguistics, specialising in Developmental Linguistics (how people learn language) because I find how children learn to talk, and fixing any problems they have with communication fascinating."
Does your child need Speech Pathology?
Most people, when they think of speech pathology, think of 'lisps' or 'stutters'. But speech pathology deals with so much more. Parents know their children better than anyone else, so give Young Talkers a call if you suspect that the speech and language development of your child doesn't seem right to you. The earlier speech issues are worked on, the better.
Speech and language issues include:
- If your child has a lisp (i.e., their /s/ doesn't sound right)
- If your toddler is having trouble pronouncing sounds, and they're hard to understand — even if they're only 3!
- If your toddler isn't talking at all, or isn't talking much.
- If your toddler seems to act naughty and often ignores what you say.
- If your child is in school, and struggling with reading and spelling.
- If your child is struggling in school, especially English. They might not have the best vocabulary, or the best grasp of grammar, which can impact them at school.
- If your child struggles to remember what's been said to them, or struggles to follow instructions.
